✦WHAT IS A HYDROSOL? ✦
Hydrosols are the pure and natural waters that are produced during the steam
distillation of plant materials such as flowers, leaves, buds, stem, roots and
others. They are produced during the same distillation process that is used to
extract essential oils. The distillation process transforms fresh, natural,
nutrient-rich plant materials into a tonic that contains the water-soluble
therapeutic properties of the plant that are not present in the essential oil.

Alma Báltica hydrosols are 100% natural, non-alcoholic and preservative-free,
distilled under the careful supervision of the certified herbalist in the
family. Our hydrosols are distilled from either wild, or home grown plants. Our
homegrown plants are lovingly grown in our organic farm in the Baltic region,
with zero pesticides, chemical fertilizers or herbicides, and are made in small
batches. Wild plants have been carefully foraged in our pure and untouched
fields and forests that surround our farm, away from any toxic exposure. Our
hydrosols have been distilled in a traditional copper Alembic still, and
properly stored for maximum shelf life.

✦HOW TO USE OUR HYDROSOLS? ✦
Hydrosols can safely be used multiple times a day, since they are very gentle
on the skin. They can be applied directly on the skin without any further
dilution. Because of their acidic nature they make excellent toners, PH
balancers, or can be added to your favorite clay mask instead of water. Most
hydrosols are slightly astringent, offering a light cleansing and pore
minimizing action. Depending on the plant, hydrosols can contain many different
compounds, most of which are skin-loving plant acids and oils. They absorb very
easily. They also make a great foundation prior to applying oils and
moisturizers, or can be used as facial mist for a glowing skin throughout the
day. The plant acids contained in hydrosols have shown to have
anti-inflammatory effects and are beneficial to the skin in countless ways.

Internal use: our 100% pure hydrosols are safe for internal use, but it is
always important to research a specific hydrosol thoroughly before consuming it
internally. It is also wise to consider working with a certified aromatherapist
or naturopath, specially if you have any pre-existing health conditions.
