They say your hair is a crown you never take off, and at Sacred Knots, we
couldn't agree more! If you're feeling like you want to completely change up
your look, then temporary dreadlocks can be a really fun way to try out a new
Sacred Knots create beautifully natural looking synthetic dreadlocks that are
lightweight, flexible and handmade just for you. There's something truly
magical about the transformative power of dreadlocks and I am so excited for
you to discover a new side of yourself!
This listing is for a set of 25 double-ended crochet synthetic dreadlocks in
your choice of colours. I will create an entirely custom set of dreadlocks for
you by hand - mixing colours and backcombing the hair before crocheting it into
a neat dreadlock with a subtle twisting pattern down it. Finally, I'll seal the
dreadlock to ensure it will continue to stay looking neat and tidy. If you'd
like any wraps added to the dreads, these will be added as well to create your
very own wearable masterpiece!
Your choice of colours will be used for the set - Opt for natural colours and
match your hair colour, or go wild and pick whatever colours excite you! Let me
know in the info box what colours you would like.
Along with your handmade dreadlocks, you will recieve rubber bands to braid in
your synthetic dreadlocks, as well as a handy guide on how to install and how
to care for them.
HOW MANY DREADLOCKS DO I NEED?
This listing is for 25 Double-ended dreadlocks. This is enough for
approximately half a head installation.
Of course, you might decide later on to try out wearing a full head of
synthetic dreadlocks and that is a great choice. My signature full head sets of
dreads are a combination of single ended and double ended dreads, which means
that you could invest in one set and wear it multiple times as a half-head set,
or choose to expand it into a full head set at a later date.
It can be a good idea to begin with a set of mainly natural synthetic
dreadlocks that match your hair with a few accent dreads in your favourite
colours and then as you become more confident rocking your beautiful new hair,
you can add in accent sets that will alter the entire look of your synthetic
dreadlock set. Trust me: a small accent set is surprisingly powerful and can
really alter the entire look of a dread set!
WHY SYNTHETIC DREADLOCKS?
One of the best things about synthetic dreadlocks is their ability to change
up your look really quickly without damaging your hair! Each dreadlock is
braided into your natural, loose hair and then secured with a rubber band.
After approximately 4-8 weeks of wear, you can carefully cut the rubber band
and unbraid your hair (don't forget to admire the crazy curls you'll have
though!) In particular, synthetic crochet dreadlocks matched to your hair
colour can be really convincing so they're perfect if you want a particular
look for an event but don't want to commit to natural, permanent dreadlocks.
Some of my favourite reasons for opting for synthetic dreadlocks are:
• Ability to change your hairstyle quickly
• Quick and easy to style in the mornings - just get up and go!
• Great for festivals where you want to look awesome but don't want to be
worrying about haircare
• A fantastic way to see if you woud like to commit to natural dreadlocks (and
don't worry - you can still use your Sacred Knots dreadlocks to decorate and
add volume or colour to your natural set if you want!)
• Explore colour! You can try out any number of awesomely bright and exciting
colours with synthetic dreads without any damage to your natural hair.
